It takes time, and the changes should be incorporated in an gradual manner. This will avoid shocking your body or worse, your psyche. Goals are fantastic and they are a great way to stay motivated during a diet or weight loss program. However, they can prove to be detrimental if you are overly ambitious in achieving them as quickly as possible. When you do too much too fast, a lot can go wrong.
Take the story of Joanie, for example. You will realize that you probably have someone in your life who had a similar experience as this poor well-meaning lady. Joanie, a 38-year old mother of three, longed for the body she had when she was a fit swimmer during her high school years. She had gradually packed on the pounds with her busy work and home schedule, and didn’t know if she had the time to commit or the knowledge to transform her body. However, Joanie awoke with a fierce and indomitable determination to make a change now, no matter the cost or pain. Joanie became a fitness maniac working out up to three times every day. She also followed a very strict diet.
Within just a few months, she had reached her goal and was amongst the fittest of her friends. However, her newfound commitment was not without its downsides. Because of her fatigue and the time she spent exercising at the office, Joanie missed out on a promotion she had worked towards her entire career. At home, her children and her husband felt neglected. While we are obviously not advocating against improving one’s health, we just want you to do so thoughtfully.
Now that we talked about how you should not approach your next diet or exercise spurt, let’s talk about the proper way of going about things.
Check your schedule. This should be the absolute first thing you do before your even think about starting a new diet or health regimen. Determine how much free time you have and take a hard look at how you are spending your time on other tasks. Depending on how important these things are to you, you can decide to lessen the amount of time you spend on them or cut them out entirely. Be careful, however as the grass is always greener on the other side.
Educate yourself. If you choose to join the BNXH091 family that is great. Plan Accordingly. Before you actually commence your journey towards a healthier life, you must make a detailed plan on how you will do so. A good rule of thumb here is to incorporate one more activity or diet trick every five days. Take a look at your schedule and pencil it in. (pro tip: Avoid using a pen as your schedule could very well change).
